Being in rhythmic dancing...

Konnichiwa, now this entry is on what had happened while I was in rhythmic. Well it was kind of hard as usual in the beginning. I know this because I was rhythmic last year as well. And surprisingly, I'm in the team of our pep squad captain again!! Last year was Ate Sasa and this year is Ate jesi. She is a nice person and she was the one who choreographed most of the dance for "Flying Away" where some did some ballet and this was where we used the ribbons. And she organized our lifts and stunts. She also gave us tips on how we can be energetic during practices and how we cannot forget the steps. We also had some laughs of course. Even though there were times when our routine was messy during practices and some would get angry at us, it was a great experience and I was able to make new friends. I enjoyed our dances most especially the dance of these three songs: "Flying Away", "Bojangles" and "Temperature. Our first dance was with the modern version of "Flight of the Bumblebee" and because I was absent I was one of those in front and will do the straddle jump. I was even able to stretch my hamstrings even further!!! I can almost do a full side split. My hips are still kind of stiff, so I have to stretch some more. Oh!! I almost forgot, we also had the song from "Fast and furious: Tokyo Drift", "Rapido y Furiouso" yes!! i memorized the name!! There were eight of us that were supposed to do a bridge at the start of this song but Ate jesi said that she noticed that were having a hard time synchronizing so we just did....I forgot the name of this stunt....anyway. We also used the song: "Sexy Love". I was able to smile and look sexy during this dance. We were supposed to look sexy since projection is about 15%. guess what? last Tuesday I noticed that I lsot weight and that is because my jazz pants suddenly felt loose on me!!! I'm so glad that I didn't go to cheering. If I did go there, I would regret and hate it. All I would is stand there and shout. And I hate shouting and my voice wouldn't be able to handle it.

The dance of "Bojangles" was taught to us by Ate Jade who is REALLY good in dancing and it was a shock when we found out that she was in another event. I mean we thought that she was in rhythmic as well. So it surprised us that she wasn't practicing with us and there were times when she wasn't around during practices. The dance was soooo hard during the first time because we had to really move our bodies and it was soo fast. But we started to get the hang of it and eventually we began to love the dance.

 "Sexy Love" was done by Ate Kim who is now in Japan and it was another shock as well because we noticed that she was just gone. Sadly, she had left way before the day of the competition and it was sad because she is a really good dancer as well. "Temperature" was done by Ate Cheska who is in pep, and at first it was hard especially because the music is fast. But we were able to do it and she was nice and patient with us. She's in cheering and she was the one who suggested that we try to look sexy during "Sexy love".

"Flying away" was done by Ate Denzel and Ate Jesi, both of them are in pep. Ate Denzel was the one who choreographed the start of the dance while Ate Jesi did the rest. I remember the time when we decided to do a run, she was telling us to smile and cheer during the dance and you know what happened? She said it was the best run but super kalat!!! And we all laughed and then we were also laughing so hard because Ate Aia was demonstrating the faces that we shouldn't have during the dance.

Last monday we had whole day practice and guess what? From 9 am until afternoon there was no electricity!!!!!! We were in the middle of doing a run when suddenly the power was cut off. So we got to sing!!! And we were all laughing so hard especially Ate Ther who was watching us practice. Eventually we started to forget our steps because we were all laughing so hard.

Then the day before the competition we had practice until 12 pm already. After recess the aerobics marathon had started. So we exercised with them in the back since it was okay to participate but we were not really included in the contest. Then all of a sudden we started doing our dance steps with the music they were using for the marathon and we were all laughing soooooooooooooooooo hard that my stomach was sooo painful. Because we were so sure that we looked very silly.

So then we did stunts and the lifts and we did some runs until lunchtime. When we wen tback to the podium we saw Fyren practicing so we watched them and they were amazing!!!!!!! Then Ate Aia said that we would have a practice at 3:30 until 4:30. So me and Thania, my classmate decided to go to our classroom and sleept here for a while. That's what we did, when we arrived there some of our other classmates were there as well. Soon, my twin (by the way, she just came back from China!!!!!) Then a batchmate of ours was with her as well then we decided to play Truth or...Truth...'cause we were all to lazy to do a dare. We were laughing so hard because Jesi (this is another Jesi) was telling us funny stories of what happened to her before in her house. Soon both of them left and I just practiced be myself and then when it was quarter past three, I woke Thania up and then we went downstairs. Glenda, Emmei and Charie looked as though they were laughing for a long time...and it just so happens that it was exactly what they have been doing.

Then 3:30 came and we started practicing a bit, Zepher was also practicing. Just then in the middle of our practice our teacher came and told us that we were breaking the rules by practicing and said that we can be disqualified. We were shocked by amazingly we were still optimistic and just shurgged it off and then Ate Aia announced that we would have to arrive at school at 6am and well the rest is in the previous entry.

I got closer to some of the first year especially since we were all sitting together. And despite the tenstion buidling up, we were all talking with each other and laughing with each other. I had so much. When the dance was over and the awarding ceremony had started all of us missed our dance already. And we were saying that they hsould have allowed us to dance again since we won.It was a total shock when we won first place. We thought that Aeres was going to win. Since they were synchronized but I guess it was because our steps were more original! And then there. I want Yellow Cab!!!! Well I have to go now!! Ja Ne!!!

A good start...

Well, it is finally our Christmas vacation and I think I am soooooooooooooooo happy today!!!!!!!!! Do you want to know why? I'll tell you anyway. WE WON!!!!!!!!!!! FIRST PLACE IN RHYTHMIC DANCING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And at first we thought that Aries a.k.a Team A was going to win because they were good as well. As we were dancing/performing I was thinking that we were all kind of messy but I just placed that thought aside and continued to dance and have fun. That was what Ate Aia and Ate Jesi told us to do: Have fun. And I did...actually we all did. I went to school by taxi because we were told to arrive at 6 am for practice and when I arrived there our captain wasn't there yet. We were told that if whoever is late will buy Yellow Cab pizza for all of us. So, we just started stretching and reviewing the dance steps. Eventually Ate Aia came and we started to fix our hair and our shirts. Also, started to fix our pompoms and putting on our ribbons. We had ribbons that we tied around our wrists to use during the dance.
Ate denzel taught me and four other groupmates some steps to do during the part of the second lift because all we were going to do was stand. Soon, all of us went to the gym for morning prayers and the start of the cheering and rhythmic competition. For me Fyren was the best especially because they placed paint on their arms to make it look like they had flames coming out and they were wearing eyeliner as well to give a scary effect. I am telling you that the effect was AMAZING!!! all throughout their cheer I had goosebumps. Sadly our cheering group didn't do well...anyweiz. Oh and while the cheerers were performing we were putting make up on. Ate Aia drew a star on oue left cheek with make up of course and she placed this really nice blue eye shadow that had glitters in it. Finally it was rhythmic next. Our group was the third to perform. And we were all shocked because the second team to perform had they first run right on that competition as in when they performed was the first time they had a full run. Unlike us we kept on having runs practically everyday!!! (By the way, when I mean run, I mean doing all the dances straight from start to finish.)
Then it was our turn. The moment of truth. Luckily I was able to keep on smiling. And all of us kept on cheering each other during the dance. The new steps we learned, we didn't do it. Ate said to us from the front that we won't do it anymore so we just stood there smiling. By the time were done, my throat was soooooooo dry and i felt exhausted. Oh the ribbons? During the part where we danced to the song "Flying away" we untie them so that when we dance the ribbons are like streamers on our wrists. That's one of my favorite dances including the "Bojangles" and "temperature"...well it's really hip hop and we have to give it all and really move our body. As soon as the dance was over, all of us already missed dancing it.
Finally the awarding ceremony, our cheering wasn't first...no surprise there...and then they annoucened that teams C and D (Fyren and Zepher) had tied for third. Ate Jade (she was the one who choreographed our dance Bojangles and she is GOOD!!!!) paused for a while and we were like holding our breath.

And we were all shouting like crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then they told us to go to the stage and we ran up to the stage. Still shouting in joy. Then we started to line up to get our medal (yes we all got a medal), and I was the first!!! I had to because our principal was already waiting. And get this, we thought that we were disqualified because we practiced yesterday after 3:30 at school. At least we didn't practice outside the school. Suprsingly, we weren't that bummed and we just said that we're going to dance anyway. After the awarding ceremony was done and we started to exit the gym. Ate Jesi (who is by the way the pep squad captain this year) said that ours was the really the best and the routine was clean unlike it was during practice. Oh!!! Here is another thing!! Two of the judges were graduates from SHS and one of them was Ate Sasa!!! She was the pep squad captian last year and my team mate. Then we all started celebrating and we saw Manuel (a guy we met from our soiree from Ateneo) in the podium and we think he was there because of his sister who is in fourth year.
Soon, we were on our way home. we did Kris Kingle in our bus among ourselves and busmates. We also stopped by Mcdo and I just ordered a drink.

Wow...that's what I lve about being in rhythmic...you make new friends and get closer to them. I was able to befriend all of my fellow team mates. Gosh...right now I can't stop listening to "Temperature" and imagining the steps in my head. I miss rhythmic soooooooo much!!!!
This is really a great way to start vacation. I finally have a medal from winning something here in SHS. I miss rhythmic already...anyway that's all for now!! Merry Christmas!!!

A long year...

Konbanwa!! Sorry for only updating now. I have been updating in my other journal, which happens to be not xanga and also with school and especially GAIA ONLINE!!!!!!!! NANI? YOU DON"T KNOW GAIA ONLINE???? WEll, you should go register and try it!!!  By the way, I had so much fun during the wedding of my tita last month!!! I was one of the bridesmaids!!! I will post the picture of my hair later. Our dress was not exactly what we expected, becuase we expected it to be more flowing but it was kind of tight around the legs and it was kind of hard to walk in it. Me and my couins had fun with the photographers as well. They were very trigger happy when we were in the hotel, in the church and during the reception. I miss my ringlets....anyweiz. Did you know, that we had to keep th ecurlers in place because we wanted to make sure that when we remove it will turn out alright, since my hair is naturally straight. Because of that, by the time the wedding was over, my hair was almost straight alreasy.Our intrams has already started, the opening ceremony was yesterday and the intrams will continue on monday. Gosh, it was almost like hell during practice especially because the pep squad captain was there watching us practice. Oh and just to let you know, I'm in  rhythmic dancing for the second year in a row!!! I also forgot to mention this, my lola came here from the states for the wedding. I was actually able to bond with her!!! Unlike the last time she was because my late lolo (condolence), was in the hospital then. she even bought me a cute clutch from Bench!!! She already left about three weeks ago, and I miss her. A lot of things happened since the last time I updated but it will take me too long to put it all here. Me and my mom are going to the mall tomorrow to buy jazz pants for me and we're going for a facial!!! Our Christmas part will be on Wednesday and our food is mostly pica pica so that we can have fun and we don't have to worry about too much garbage, etc...Well, that's all for now!! Ja Ne!!!

Konbanwa!!! I had so much fun yesterday!!!! OKay, this was what happened. My tito offered to drive me to Ateneo and we left around 6:30 since the concert starts at 7 pm. He dropped me off, I didn't see any of my friends so I called one of my classmates. She said that she's still at home and asked if I could wait for her, of course, I said yes. So, I sat down at one of the benches and waited. i saw some of my friends from the soiree. Then another classmates of ours came with two of our friends. When I told her that I was waiting for Mich, she said that they will just go ahead and I'll text them she arrives. Gabby told me to go and get my ticket first from Jino, and so I did and then I went back to waiting. Finally, after a few minutes she came. And so we went inside and went to our friends. At first we just sat down and then we walked around, kind of waiting for another classmate of ours. Then the concert started, the first band was Kamikaze. I was able to vidoe J doing silly and cool stunts. After they were done, Patrice called to tell us that she was almost there. So we went outisde to meet her. Once she arrived we went inside because Chicosci was the next band. And we were there in the front along with some other fans singing and cheering. I was taking pictures and hanging out with my friends. Then before the next band started to perform which was Orange & Lemons, we took a picture of ourselves with one of the members. Since their songs were usually the romantic kind, Patrice and Reyvin started dancing!!! We were all so KILIG!!! And I was taking pictures with my camera. Then bands from the sections started to perform. Thery were okay. Then we started to get kind of bored so we started to walk around. When the concert was almost over, I suddenly got hyper and started to take pictures of everyone. I was able to bond with our friends because of that. Then my tita and tito arrived to pick me up. By the way, it was already 12 am!!! Actually I was planning to leave around 9 or 10 because I thought that I might get bored but no, i had so much fun!!!!!!!!! There didn't mind and then we stopped by McDo's for a midnight snack. When I arrived home, i wasn't sleepy yet so i went online and transferred my pictures to the computer.  I can't wait to meet them again!!! Oh! and we're going to have three more soirees!!! Well, that's what i was told by Mich. Anyway, I have to go now. Ja matte Ne!!
